Pre-K Counts
Warwick Learning Centers, Inc. are proud to be one of the organizations in Chester County chosen to provide Pre-K Counts in Pennsylvania.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania established Pre-K Counts in 2007 to allow greater access to high quality pre-kindergarten education. The program is free to qualified families.
Similar to most Head Start programs, Pre-K Counts has lower barriers for qualification for the program's full subsidy compared to other early childhood education subsidies.
PA Pre-K Counts is designed for children:
- Between the age of 3 and kindergarten entry age;
- Who are at risk for school failure based on family economic challenges, a first language other than English or special needs issues
Quality standards of the program help ensure that enrolled children begin school ready to learn and prepared to experience success in their schooling, as life-long learners and productive citizens.
Warwick Child Care Center is a lead agency for the Pre-K Counts program. It is offered as a full-day pre-kindergarten at five centers:
Learn More
Pre-K Counts is a very busy class. Our goal is to prepare your child for kindergarten, but to do so in a way that instills in each child a love for learning.
Most of our activities are hands-on. Through the use of learning centers (also called discovery centers), your child will develop many skills, including the ability to make choices and decisions as well as to follow simple directions.
In the Pre-K Counts class, children work on mastering letter recognition and letter sounds as well as numbers, colors and shapes. In addition to the discovery centers, we also use weekly themes, simple science projects, math, music, arts and crafts and lots of reading activities to provide your child with a well-rounded learning experience.
Students leaving Pre-K Counts will do so with the necessary skills for kindergarten as well as a broader understanding of the world.
